Saboten - Tonkatsu

I have not tried many tonkatsu before but the ones at Saboten are really worth a mention.

Grinding sesame seeds, and then drown them with plum sauce, which will be used to dip the meat.
The cabbages in the background were very fresh and finely chopped, and you get to choose between sesame sauce or orange peel sauce to go with them.

We ordered a Pork Loin set and a Saboten Special Set

Saboten Special Set - A small pork tenderloin, pork loin, fried ebi, crab cream croquette

I prefer the tenderloin. The loin is slightly drier.
The crumbs were fried to perfection. Crispy and light, won't feel gelat.
I LOVE THE CRAB CREAM CROQUETTE.

Set meal comes with Matcha Ice Cream. Nothing to rave about.

The menu was not very extensive. You probably won't be there often unless you are dying to have some tonkatsu. It was a pretty enjoyable meal and cabbages never tasted so yummy before.
The free flow cabbage, soup and rice is pretty attractive. I enjoyed the cabbage and miso soup though they were not extraordinarily tasty. The soup has plenty of ingredients! We had several servings of them (:
The staff were very attentive and took initiative to ask if we needed to top up our veg/soup even when we did not request.
